Any idea why Fiorinal is considered a controlled substance while Fioricet is a legend drug? The only difference is aspirin vs APAP, both have 50mg of butalbital. Help me out here fellas, what am I missing?
Edit: it appears that according to multiple answers butalbital can be extracted from aspirin significantly easier than apap can, giving it the federal C-III status
Working at a pharmacy I found those and neither have codine codine. Why is one a C3 and the other not?
Hello good people, Per Lexicomp, fioricet should not exceed 6 tablets per day. No mention of weekly or monthly limits. I have heard, but can’t find the source, that using fioricet more than 5 days per month can lead to medication overuse headaches. Does anyone know where the weekly/monthly limits
The only information I can find at the moment is on the Pharmacist Letter which states that the topic is still up for debate. Are your pharmacies going to continue dispensing their remaining inventory after the change? Here is the excerpt from this month's Pharmacist Letter discussing the change: &g

FDA proposed a rule in April 2022 to remove the exempt list and return all to control status, however this hasn't been signed and made official. In response to the ongoing shortage of ADHD medications, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved several generic versions of Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine dimesylate) for the treatment of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder in people 6 years and older. Vyvanse is available in capsu

Last month, I paid around $200 for my Vyvanse, but this time when I picked up my meds, the copay was only $10. I don’t know if there was a mixup, if the company just drastically reduced their prices since the FDA approved generic versions, or something else, but I’m super happy. Edit: - I didn’t hi
I’m 28, and for almost as long as I can remember, I’ve been getting treated for PI ADHD. I have taken between 40-60 MG of Vyvanse/Lisdexamfetamine as a prescription to treat it since elementary school, but with this national shortage still going on, I’ve been struggling to get refills on time. I kn

Purely anecdotal, but some possibly good news in this shitshow of a medication shortage. When I went in to pick up my Vyvanse, and they were out, the pharmacist told me, "I ordered generic Vyvanse to arrive tomorrow, but also wouldn't be surprised if it didn't make it with this delivery. I just moved to Illinois from Ohio and switched Medicaid services. For the past 2 years Ohio Medicaid has covered my 40 mg Vyvance prescription in full with essentially no issues. Today I went to fill my new prescription and was told that Illinois Medicaid won’t cover this because “I’m too old to t
