Brand names: eletriptan hydrobromide
12.1 Mechanism of Action Eletriptan binds with high affinity to 5-HT 1B , 5-HT 1D and 5-HT 1F receptors, has modest affinity for 5-HT 1A , 5-HT 1E , 5-HT 2B and 5-HT 7 receptors. Migraines are likely due to local cranial vasodilatation and/or to the release of sensory neuropeptides (vasoactive intestinal peptide, substance P and calcitonin gene-related peptide) through nerve endings in the trigeminal system. The therapeutic activity of eletriptan hydrobromide tablets for the treatment of migraine headache is thought to be due to the agonist effects at the 5-HT 1B/1D receptors on intracranial blood vessels (including the arterio-venous anastomoses) and sensory nerves of the trigeminal system which result in cranial vessel constriction and inhibition of pro-inflammatory neuropeptide release.

This is the longest I’ve gone without a migraine attack in over a decade. I feel like I’ve gotten my life back. For context: been dealing with migraines for close to 30 years, but they became chronic in December/January. I had previously been on Rizatriptan and Eletriptan, but started experiencing

I (22f) went to the mayo clinic today in scottsdale to see a headache specialist neurologist and it was the WORST experience ever. Fellow Migraineurs: I have chronic migraines. If I wasn't on emgality, I would have migraines every day. I have a migraine specialist neurologist, I'm a 30 year old woman and I have had my mri's done, as well as a CT scan. I realize that I have never actually met anyone else in my whole life who has
I see a lot of folks complaining about side effects here and want to share what I've learned. This is a long info-dump; feel free to skip around for parts that are most relevant to you, but DO NOT skip the following disclaimer: **Disclaimer**: I am not a doctor or medical practitioner. I’ve had chronic migraine for 6 months, been treating it with meds and lifestyle changes for 3 months. When I start to feel my headache progress, I’ll take a triptan (rizatriptan, eletriptan, or ubrelvy) but it’s so hard to say confidently if it does anything. Whether or not my migraine gets worse,
