Mechanism of Action

12.1 Mechanism of Action Latanoprostene bunod is thought to lower intraocular pressure by increasing outflow of aqueous humor through both the trabecular meshwork and uveoscleral routes. Intraocular pressure is a major modifiable risk factor for glaucoma progression. Reduction of intraocular pressure reduces risk of glaucomatous visual field loss.

5 WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS • Pigmentation: Increased pigmentation of the iris and periorbital tissue (eyelid) can occur
Latanoprostene bunod ophthalmic solution should be used with caution in aphakic patients, in pseudophakic patients with a torn posterior lens capsule, or in patients with known risk factors for macular edema
