Case 1) A physician prescribed his wife #180 plaquenil 200mg BID + #30 azithromycin 250 mg QD. Paying with GoodRx. (we didn’t fill it of course) One of my new tech typed it in, i caught it and called him asking for diagnosis code. He started out saying his wife has asthma and needed it for prophyla
Our pharmacy is being physically expanded right now and the ScriptPro machine we have was moved for the first time in who knows how long. There were about 60 vials/caps found underneath plus a dusty ahh Zpak that expired in 2010… Also these pics were taken by an overnight technician not me so shout
(34F, 5'5", non-smoker, USA) I feel terrible for even writing this, but it's been absolutely bothering me since I found out. I know someone that has told their husband they have cancer. Surgical intern here. I feel like I call my pharmacists an ungodly amount of times a day, and wanted to know if maybe I was missing some basic knowledge (or basic ways to get to that knowledge). My hospital has Micromedex for free, so I'll always try to give it a cursory glance or Google quickly bef

FINAL UPDATE: after his final IV antibiotics appointment today we met with an awesome doctor. Essentially he said that when we first went into the ER to get him looked at the other doctor fucked up by not draining the hematoma or whatever it is on the front of his leg and he probably has phlebitis.
Anyone have any thoughts on how ceftriaxone would cause this? Part of me thinks it’s just an odd coincidence, patients were in the hospital in the first place, and a whole lot of people receive ceftriaxone. But, anything is possible I suppose
