Hi everyone, I’m an OBGYN SR 🙋♀️ seeking some practical guidance regarding Repatha (evolocumab) access in India for my father. He is a 64-year-old male who recently underwent left main coronary stenting and is currently on maximally tolerated medical therapy (rosuvastatin + ezetimibe + DAPT etc).
I've been diagnosed with 2 soft plaques (one in my heart at 35% stenosis and one in my right carotid at 45% stenosis) back in early July. Calcium score is 0. Was reviewing a patient's medical chart. Thought to myself "Man I wonder if anyone mixed up Fenofibrate and Phenobarb". Any times when you or someone you know mixed up two sound alike drugs?
Besides the different doses offered with each formulation, does anyone know the difference between these three forms of fenofibrate? They're not interchangeable with each other either.
Has anyone seen this combination used in the retail setting? The Zetia package insert states these can be used in combination, but I was just wondering how that translates to real life.
I know we can use FDA orange book to find an approved generic substitution for certain meds with different release mechanism like diltiazem, fenofibrate. http://www.fda.gov/downloads/Drugs/DevelopmentApprovalProcess/UCM071436.pdf I am been looking at the orange book and still not sure what is the b
